Which rotation am I on?
Most officers can tell you they work four on, four off — but not what it is called. Tap out four weeks of your roster and this will tell you.
Tap the days you work
Start anywhere in your cycle — it does not matter which day you begin on. Tap once for a day you work, twice for a day off, three times to clear it. Six days starts narrowing it down; two weeks is usually enough to be certain.
Worked Off Not set
Once you know what it is called, you can save it once and stop counting — the calendar fills itself in from there.
Every rotation, drawn out
Find the shape that matches your roster. Amber is a day shift, indigo a night, teal a twenty-four hour tour, and pale is a day off.

If nothing matches
Plenty of agencies run a variation — an extra day bolted on, a relief line that breaks the cycle, a local arrangement with no name at all. If none of these fit, the rotation is still yours to keep: you enter the days once in the app and it repeats them for you, named or not.
Why two rotations can look identical
Panama and Pitman are the same on-off pattern — two on, two off, three on. So are Continental and Southern Swing. What separates each pair is not the days you work but whether your crew stays on one tour or rotates between days and nights.
It catches a lot of people out. Officers say they work Panama when they are on Pitman, and the difference is the whole argument of one of our comparisons.
Once you know which one it is
- Every rotation, drawn day by day — what each one does to your week
- Which rotation gives the most weekends off — all 21, counted out
- Schedule comparisons — pattern against pattern
Save it once and stop counting
Whatever it turns out to be called, you enter the pattern once and the calendar fills itself in — as far ahead as you want to look.
