Looking for a ShiftWave alternative?

ShiftWave is the newer shift calendar from the makers of CopApp. Below: what it does well, where the two differ, and how to tell which fits your week.

What ShiftWave is

ShiftWave is the newer shift calendar from MyProjectX, the same developer behind CopApp. The CopApp listing points people to it directly. It came out in 2025 and is updated regularly.

Its listing describes a simple calendar for repeating shift schedules, with colour themes, notes on any day, holidays, backup and restore, and export to Apple Calendar and Google Calendar. It names the Pitman schedule, 4 on / 2 off and 5 on / 3 off as examples, and lets you build your own.

What ShiftWave does well

  • Calendar export. Your shifts can go straight into Apple Calendar or Google Calendar today. The same thing is in development for BlueShifts but is not out yet, so if you need it right now, ShiftWave has it and BlueShifts does not.
  • Backup and restore, added in 2026.
  • Holidays built in.
  • It is actively maintained, with several updates in the past year.

Two things to know from its App Store listing: Apple lists the app as containing advertising, and its premium subscription includes ad removal. Its privacy section lists third-party advertising identifiers among the data that may be collected. None of that is hidden — it is on the listing — but it is worth knowing before you install.

Where BlueShifts is different

ShiftWave and BlueShifts both start with a repeating rotation. They part company after that.

  • ShiftWave shows you your schedule. BlueShifts tracks what your paid duty work earns you. Paid duty jobs, the employer who hired you, the pay, the kilometres, and what is still owed.
  • A PDF report of any date range, with every job listed and the year totalled.
  • Court, jail and hospital addresses, gate codes and tow companies for the road. A document library of reference PDFs — SFST, HAZMAT, VIN and CVE — is in development.
  • Custom holidays. ShiftWave has holidays. BlueShifts also lets you add your own, which matters when your agency's holiday list is not the standard one.
  • No ads. Nothing on your screen but your calendar.

If you need Google Calendar sync today, ShiftWave has it and BlueShifts does not yet — ours is in development. If the off-duty money is the part you keep losing track of, that is the part BlueShifts was built for.

Everything below is on your phone in a couple of minutes: the rotation, the off-duty work, and what it earned you.

How this comparison was put together

Everything in the table comes from each app's own App Store listing, checked on 1 August 2026. Where a listing does not mention a feature, the table says not stated rather than no — an app may do something its listing never mentions. Nothing here is a test of the apps themselves. Anything marked in development is a BlueShifts feature being built now, not one you can use today.

Coming from ShiftWave?

ShiftWave is CopApp rebuilt, and the calendar half is genuinely good. Bring your rotation across and you keep that, plus a record of every paid duty job under the employer who hired you.

Scan to install — or hold it up for the officer next to you.
