Entry level police pay near you
What a brand-new officer earns on day one, at the agencies within driving distance of your ZIP code. These are starting figures — after the academy, at the bottom of the pay scale, before you have moved up a single step. Base pay only: no overtime, no shift differential, no specialty or education pay.
Entry pay onlyEvery salary here is what an officer is paid on day one, out of the academy — base pay on a 40-hour week, with no overtime, shift differential, specialty or education pay counted. Nobody stays on it.

Every figure below is a starting salary — what the agency pays an officer in their first year on the road.
Sources
- Starting pay comes from each agency’s own published document — a salary schedule, pay ordinance, collective agreement or recruitment page. Every figure is the entry rate for a newly sworn officer; none of them is a career average, a top-of-scale figure or a salary estimate site’s guess.
- Distance is measured in a straight line from the center of your ZIP code to the agency’s city; a county agency sits at the center of its county, so its distance is approximate. Statewide agencies are matched to your state rather than to a distance.
- ZIP code centers are from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2025 ZCTA gazetteer. Nothing you type is sent anywhere — the whole table is in the page and the search runs on your own device.
Checked 2026-08-23. Each agency’s figure carries its own checked date on its page. Follow an agency link for the document the number came from.
