The City of New Castle Police Department publishes a salary of $75,338.37 effective 1 July 2026 on completing the academy. Officers work 11 and a half hour shifts with every other weekend off, may take a vehicle home, and retire on the State Municipal Police Pension after twenty years. Officers are covered by FOP Lodge 1.
Entry-level base salary only. Overtime, bonuses, education incentives, shift differentials, locality pay and lateral rates are excluded, so most officers earn more than this.
