What Payette County does
Payette County Sheriff's Office polices 410 square miles and more than 22,000 people on Idaho's Oregon border, and is also the emergency service provider for the city of New Plymouth. Its Patrol Division runs ten sworn deputies in teams, each supervised by a corporal and a lieutenant, taking the initial response to 911 calls and the first investigation of reported crime. The office also runs the county jail, dispatch, the driver's license division, concealed weapons permits, fingerprinting, house checks and a work inmate programme.
