Capitol Police Pay Schedule effective 1 July 2026: Capitol Police Trainee, pay scale group CP29, step S, longevity level A — $54,956 a year ($26.34 an hour). The same figure is step A of Capitol Police Patrolman (CP30), so pay does not move on promotion out of the trainee class; it moves with the step.
Entry-level base salary only. Overtime, bonuses, education incentives, shift
differentials, locality pay and lateral rates are excluded, so most officers earn more
than this.
