About Scott County
Scott County Sheriff's Office polices the south-western edge of the Twin Cities metro from Shakopee, providing primary law enforcement to ten townships and the City of Credit River and assisting the county's seven municipalities around the clock. Its patrol unit works rotating shifts covering daytime and evening hours, weekends and holidays, and takes in uniformed patrol, recreational safety, a canine unit and SWAT; a support and services unit holds investigations, civil process, court security, warrants and transports and the volunteer reserve deputies. A recreational safety deputy patrols the county's lakes and rivers by boat, snowmobile and ATV, and monitors truck traffic for seasonal road restrictions in the weeks after the thaw. The office is also the 911 answering point for the county's 152,000 residents.
