About Spring Lake Park
Spring Lake Park Police Department is a full-time agency covering a small Anoka County city of about 7,200 astride Highway 65 north of Minneapolis. It runs 13 sworn officers licensed by the Minnesota POST Board — a chief, two patrol sergeants, an investigator, a school liaison officer and seven patrol officers — alongside two civilian records technicians, and answers roughly 7,000 calls a year with patrol on the street 24 hours a day, every day. Dispatch comes through Anoka County Central Communications. The department runs a Selected, Intensified Traffic Enforcement programme for problem areas and takes part in the state's Toward Zero Deaths programme, for which it has won several awards and grants.
