TSA shift schedule at John F. Kennedy International Airport
The hours, the tours and how the days off are decided for TSA officers at JFK — taken from the agency’s own airport fact sheet, not from a jobs board.
TSA publishes a fact sheet for every airport it screens, and it sets out the tours worked at that one. Here is what JFK publishes, and what it looks like in the app.
TSA's own airport fact sheet states that "screening operations are located both inside and outside the six terminals", that "JFK is currently assessing candidates for FULL-TIME positions. Those shifts are: 40 hours per week tour of duty. Five (5) days with Eight (8) hours per day", and it prints the windows: "morning shifts start between 3:30 a.m. - 5:30 a.m. Afternoon shifts start between 1 p.m. - 3 p.m."
Sunday to Saturday, twice — the same order the calendar runs in.

September 2026
The two days off in the month above are an example, and that is the point. JFK IS THE ONE AIRPORT HERE HIRING FULL TIME ONLY, and the only one that prints a fixed tour with fixed start windows: five eights, mornings starting between 3:30 and 5:30 a.m. or afternoons between 1 and 3 p.m. It still does not say which two days are off, and with six terminals to staff the answer depends on where in the airport you are posted. You mark your own two days once and the year fills itself in.

Screening rosters are set by the airport, adjusted after they are issued, and the days off are bid. Why that is, in TSA’s own words.
