Belleview Police Department entry pay
What this agency pays a new officer to start, and how that compares with the rest of the country.
Entry pay onlyEvery salary here is what an officer is paid on day one, out of the academy — base pay on a 40-hour week, with no overtime, shift differential, specialty or education pay counted. Nobody stays on it.
Belleview Police Department starts at $53,514 a year — about $25.73 an hour on a 2,080-hour year, before overtime. That is $13,171 below the median of the 2,288 agencies on this list, and $14,626 below the median for municipal agencies.
Cost of livingPrices in Florida run about 3% above the national average, so this is worth roughly $51,747 somewhere at average prices — $1,767 less than the headline figure. Most of that is rent, at 122 against a national average of 100, where goods are 98. Based on state-wide price levels, because this agency is not tied to a single metro area, from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, 2024. The salary above is what the employer publishes; this line is our arithmetic on it, and nothing on this site is ranked on it.
How big the department isBelleview Police Department reported 14 sworn officers and 2 civilian staff to the FBI for 2025. That is 2.2 officers per 1,000 residents, over a population of 6,319.A rate is only meaningful for a city department, where the population served is the city’s own. Reporting to the FBI is voluntary, so a count can reflect a partial return as easily as a small agency, and the FBI asks that agencies not be compared on staffing. What Belleview says about itself
On behalf of all employees of the Belleview Police Department I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our web page and taking an interest in the department. We are committed to working with our government and community to provide a safe and inviting place for all to enjoy.
What Belleview does
The Belleview Police Department is the municipal force for the City of Belleview in Marion County, south-east of Ocala. It is a small municipal agency working alongside the Marion County Sheriff's Office, which provides detention services for the city, and states its purpose as working with the city government and the community to keep Belleview safe and inviting while maintaining what the city calls its Small Town Charm.
Shifts at Belleview
Belleview's class specification states that officers work a varied 24/7 rotating shift and are assigned to a scheduled shift for a 16-week duration - three shift bids a year.
Three bids a year means the calendar you built in January is wrong by May. BlueShifts keeps the pattern as a setting, so a new bid redraws every month ahead at once.
