How big the department isHamilton County Sheriff's Office reported 22 sworn officers and 41 civilian staff to the FBI for 2025.No rate is shown: this agency does not police a single population the FBI publishes a figure for. Reporting to the FBI is voluntary, so a count can reflect a partial return as easily as a small agency, and the FBI asks that agencies not be compared on staffing. What Hamilton County does
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office serves Hamilton County in north Florida from Jasper, the county seat, on the Georgia line. Its Communications Center answers every 911 call in the county 24 hours a day and dispatches not only its own deputies but Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services, six volunteer fire departments and every municipal police department in the county - so a small office carries the county's whole emergency dispatch load.
