Power County Sheriff's Office serves this farming county on the Snake River and the American Falls Reservoir in south-eastern Idaho, working from American Falls, and runs the county jail alongside patrol and investigation. Its civil division draws the distinction plainly: in a criminal case the office acts for the State of Idaho, while in a civil case the Sheriff is only the intermediary and represents neither side, and can act only on a court-issued document.
