The City's own job classification list, effective 1 July 2025, sets Police Officer at pay grade PS02 with an annual minimum of $59,000 ($28.3654 an hour on a 40-hour week), a midpoint of $75,525 and a maximum of $89,775. Police Officer Trainee sits below it at PS01, minimum $55,266. Officers receive a yearly salary increase for the first ten years, then an increase every other year.

differentials, locality pay and lateral rates are excluded, so most officers earn more
than this.
