The Howey-in-the-Hills Police Department is the municipal force for the Town of Howey-in-the-Hills in Lake County, a town of about 2,200 residents founded by the citrus grower William John Howey in 1921 and incorporated in 1925. It fields seven full-time and four part-time officers alongside school resource officers, works on a budget of over a million dollars, and is dispatched through the Lake County Sheriff's Office. The Town's law enforcement public records are held separately from its other records, at the police building on North Palm Avenue.
