What Oklahoma Highway Patrol does
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is the largest division of the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety. Most of its troopers serve in thirteen field troops and two turnpike troops patrolling nearly 112,000 miles of road, while Troop W covers 38 state lakes and Troop Z handles major criminal investigations. It also provides Capitol patrol, commercial vehicle enforcement, the bomb squad and executive security for the Governor.
