What Spartanburg County does
Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office is organised into five divisions, of which Uniform Patrol is the most visible: 104 deputies split into four platoons — Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta — each with a lieutenant, a first sergeant, three sergeants and around twenty to twenty-four deputies. Deputies work 12-hour shifts, with Alpha and Bravo on days from 7am to 7pm and Charlie and Delta on nights. For operational purposes the county is divided into four policing regions, further split into zones for quicker response. Criminal Investigations covers violent crimes, property crimes, special victims, fraud and narcotics alongside a forensic laboratory, while the Administration Division holds records, accreditation, IT, public information and a chaplaincy programme.
