Sachse Police Department serves a city straddling Dallas and Collin counties northeast of Dallas and has been a Texas Police Chiefs Association accredited agency since 2011. Sachse Police Department Pay Plan FY26, the department's own step table: Police Officer Step 1 $80,099.00 a year ($38.51 an hour), rising through six steps to $97,452.62; Police Sergeant starts at $104,828 and Lieutenant at $118,456. Police Recruit is a SEPARATE class on a single flat rate of $75,000 ($36.06 an hour) with no steps — it is the pre-certification academy class, so the first sworn step is Officer Step 1. No prior service is required, and this is not a lateral rate: the city's recruitment page states that a laterally hired officer may be started between steps 1 and 6, which puts an applicant with no prior service at step 1.
Entry-level base salary only. Overtime, bonuses, education incentives, shift
differentials, locality pay and lateral rates are excluded, so most officers earn more
than this.
