Cheyenne Police Department polices Wyoming's capital and largest city from West 18th Street, describing itself as a progressive agency of around 110 sworn officers and 27 civilian employees, and working under the motto Protecting the Legend. The City sets out its purpose as working in cooperation with citizens to lead the charge in preventing crime and defending the rights of the community.
